Easy SEO Tips to Boost Website Rankings ASAP

He explains that most marketers put too much emphasis solely on keywords and ignore the many other factors that search engine algorithms take into account. Most importantly, website usability has a major impact on results, as search engines tend to “reward” websites that are very user-friendly. Here are just couple of his tips to boost website usability and ranking:

  • Use high-quality, relevant content. Do your clients know the meaning of “dwell time?” Dwell time is how long visitors spend on their website, and the longer the dwell time, the more likely your clients have engaging, valuable content. Typically, websites with content that is between 2,000 and 2,500 words rank high, suggesting that the more words used, the better the content. “Although word count doesn’t rule the SEO world – nobody will read your stuff if it’s not helpful to them – longer content does give you the opportunity to provide more value, include more keywords, incorporate more outbound links, and of course, get people to spend more time reading to increase dwell time,” Louis explains.
  • Load time. Your clients’ websites may not keep visitors around for long if it takes forever to load. Each second counts when it comes to page load time, and this can have a negative effect on a website’s bounce rate and number of pages viewed—both of which have an impact on SEO ranking. Are your clients unsure of how to improve their load time? Suggest quick fixes such as using a caching plug-in, making sure the code is clean and streamlined, optimizing image sizes, reducing the number of plug-ins, and minimizing redirects.

In addition to these two, Louis shares 12 other insights that you can pass on to your clients who want to easily increase their SEO ranking –and fast! All of his tips improve a website’s usability, which in turn can kick rankings up a notch.
